Ian MacFarlane is a highly experienced iron and steel professional who has over 30 years’ industry knowledge. He has operated at all levels within the industry, and within his role as HR Director and Steel Industry Consultant he has led, developed and delivered competency and training programmes for individuals in iron and steel across the globe.
Ian’s extensive experience within British Steel, Corus and Tata Steel has been acquired across several continents. He has gained a truly global perspective of operational and boardroom issues from successful assignments in Turkey, India, North and South America, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, France, Holland, Thailand and Qatar. The ability to relate and communicate at all levels of various steel organisations within different cultures and countries has been fundamental to understanding and resolving the pertinent issues of the client organisations.
Developing and delivering professional training workshops within organisations has been a pivotal part of Ian’s successful career; his achievement of specialist, accredited management diplomas and certification through the IPD in this arena has supported his professional development and excellence in this field.
