Jonathan is a Management Consultant, and manufacturing and engineering specialist. He graduated from Bradford University in 1983 with an honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, passed statutory law examinations in 1985 and achieved Chartered Engineer’s status in 1988.
Jonathan worked as a senior consultant for a leading international management consultancy with a wide range of global blue-chip clients. Previous to this, his work as a consultant entailed large scale project management and consultancy with a number of international consultancies on British Government, World Bank and EU projects in India, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa and Romania. Jonathan started his engineering career in mining reaching the position of senior engineering manager from a successful career spanning 14 years in extraction industries (coal, diamond, gold, lignite) before taking the opportunity to further his career overseas.
Jonathan has presented at several international conferences having successfully completed his DMS and MBA through distance learning at Henley Management College in the 1990s. In the last six years, Jonathan has worked extensively in the Southern Hemisphere predominantly in Steel and FMCG implementing proven, successful methodologies to achieve significant business turnarounds within client organisations. This has meant the application and successful marriage of organisational strategy implementation to disciplined client project management. The fundamental supporting pillars of problem solving/trouble shooting techniques, structured rational decision making and people management skills have underpinned these engagements, each tailored to the client’s organisational culture and manufacturing and engineering technologies.
Recent clients include the $30 billion packaging organisation Amcor; RioTinto; Bluescope Steel; Nikon Precision Engineering; Arcelor Mittal; Coca Cola; UK Coal; National Starch. Recent engagements that Jonathan has led include the merging of two factories in Queensland, Australia with an ensuing 20% profit increase; managing a 7 figure turn around (over 2 years) of a major commodity producer, and the introduction of a centralised fault diagnosis support team throughout a leading technology provider.
Jonathan is married with two children, played representative rugby in his twenties and still enjoys golf and a passive role in outdoor sports.
