Rangam Mitra's career spans over 30 years in international
banking and trade finance consultancy. Rangam has conducted Structured Trade Finance courses in more than 15 countries over the past 10 years. As a banker, he has been involved in financing international trade flows and also designed and delivered trade finance programmes for major global banks.
Rangam previously worked as senior internal auditor at Grindlays Bank’s head office in London where he was responsible for the auditing of all head office divisions and branches in London and Jersey as well as analysis and implementation of the bank's global operating system. In Hong Kong he established bank officer bank training programmes in correspondent banking, trade finance and capital markets for the People's Bank of China and a number of banks in Korea and in the Indian subcontinent.
As a London-based consultant for the last 14 years, Rangam has focused on structuring trade transactions for corporations and advising banks on related risk issues. He has also been involved in the strategic development of markets in newlyindustrialised countries, the management and marketing of agrobased products in the USA, and various aspects of the establishment of international commodity and trading activities for multi-national corporations.
